This is a video that I just saw posted at weapons man. If you are not going to his site yet you should be. This is a video put out my the British government concerning making the Sten gun. It is well worth watching.
The STEN was full auto only and fired from an open bolt…the trouble to design one to fire semi only and from a closed bolt…along with a 16 in’ minimum barrel would make such a project impractical…such a firearm with a barrel of minimum legal length would also be unappealing from a strictly aesthetic POV also…like the FUGLY Uzis with the damn stupid looking 16 in bbl…the STEN would have to be manufactured as a pistol, then SBRed to make it attractive, but the cost of doing so would be, for the majority of folks, impractical.
if you are wondering why i made it out of paper its because i didn’t want to go the hassle of getting the proper licenses to legally make and owen full auto submachine guns
Reminds me of the potato peeling scene in one of the old Bob Hope movies – the potatoes just never end, nor apparently do the STENs

I really like these older videos about making guns. If you study them there is a lot to learn. I really want that truck of sten’s.
I love looking at the background details…as you said, there is much to learn…can you imagine something like THIS in today’s ‘Blighty’???
No, I can not. I found a number of other videos like this I think I am going to post. The information is just to valuable.
Would it be easy for you guys to make a 1:1 Sten copy? It was somehow done in WW2 by underground resistance movements without the use of stampings
