In this post we will be covering some of the small parts as well as the assembly and dis-assembly and operation of the Volkspistolen.
First a series of picture of this really nice looking pistol as completed.
This first video is of assembly and dis-assembly of the slide and showing the fire control group.
Now on to more pictures of the individual components to show how they are made.
The first set is of the disconnector.
The majority of the parts ready to be assembled
This next series are some more pictures of the frame.
It is interesting to see how the magazine well was made.
The cover for the magazine well is also the guide for the trigger
This photo gives a better view of the trigger as it sets in the frame
This last video shows the operation of the fire control group and how this pistol works.
A really cool project, nicely done. I am probably “kicking in an open door” so please do not be offended, but “Volkspistolen” is actually the plural form of “Volkspistole”. Unless you are going into serial production, you have designed and built yourself a “Volkspistole”. I KNOW I am an anal-retentive know-it-all (Besser-Wisser in german) but sometimes I just can´t help myself. Again, a really neat and impressive project as well as a very nice website!. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the correction Patrik. I am glade you like the site. I hope you keep coming back and I am not offended if someone corrects me. Thanks Chuck

Do you have plan on making blueprints for this pistol? I would love to make one!
Yes in the future.
I can’t wait to see them!
Do you know when they will be published? Or is it just when ever you get around to it?
Great build!
Seeing that inspired me to dig out a disassembled, somewhat rusted, .32 Colt 1903 made in 1905 that’s been in a box for 30 plus years. Blasted and Parked it. Reassembled and shot a mag thru it that day.
How good is that?
Pete
Seconding Jon. I’m a machinist and I’ve done some product development and blueprinting, so if you need any help making up blueprints, let me know.
Where is the recoil spring, this pistol can not work
The recoil spring wraps around the barrel
Do you think this pistol could handle slightly larger calibers such as .380ACP?
Jon. The design of the pistol was to allow for different size magazines and different calibers. 32acp,380 auto to name a few.
I am liking this gun more and more. If this was published as a book or video, I am sure it would become the standard by which all other DIY handguns would be measured.
Any news on plans
Round slide reminds me of South African Musgrave pistol, that also somewhat falls into the volks category.
I hope our favorite researcher will do the entry on that subject one day.
As for this 32acp, no need to mention how genial it is… Although builder would need to be fairly skilled in welding and appropriate equipment. But as the song said, you cant make missiles out of mud…
It’s a very nice piece of work, striker fired, with the striker doing double duty as the ejector as well, ALA’ Browning 1910/1922.
No slide rails is a nice touch as well, many pistols have been made with the barrel or the like as the front guide, and the doll’s head striker base for the rear guide. Simplifies a lot of the production of the pistol, and with a few minor changes,IMO, eliminate much of the welding, using bonding agents like West System epoxy, with no loss of strength or mechanical integrity.
Parabéns pelo projeto,vc não teria os desenhos???
Eu gostaria de produzir a minha.
Is this double action or single action?
I’m cant wait for the blueprint or some reference dimensions!
Any update in this proyect, looking to build mine…
I know I’m probable not gonna hear back but hAve any plans or anything for this been put together yet? I’d be willing to even purchase them if they were reasonable.
Just another person who would love to see the blueprints!
Any blueprints available?
Just checking back to ask if there are plans for this masterpiece still in the works or if it’s been dropped. I’ve been really looking forward to a plans release and studying over this thing to try and see if I can figure it out myself. Please do put up plans for it. Even if you sold them I’m sure it would fly off the shelf.
I too would be very interested in plans.
Any progress on the release of the plans?
I’m probably beating a dead horse here but. Will we ever see the plans / schematics for this beauty?
I really need the blueprints of this pistol!I want to test it with a 9×17 or a Makaroff 9×18 ammo.Maybe with 22LR.
