A visit to Dealer Showroom

We arrived at Medford Or. on Saturday and with a rental car drove to Klamath Falls where John Bush and Dealer Showroom is at. John has decided to retire and is cutting back his inventory drastically. With that in mind my wife and I spent all day Sunday and part of Saturday evening looking for and picking up a few items.

John helped me go through drawers, boxes and binds of stuff.

IMG_2090sEvery drawer was a new adventure. You could find stripped Enfield receivers.

IMG_3173sThere were drawers of magazines

IMG_3174sRacks of Madsen parts as well as boxes of misc Madsen items

IMG_3171sShelves of parts

IMG_3170sEvery nook and cranny was filled with parts

IMG_3167sEven found a box of M-1 Garand receivers

IMG_3168sJohn has even decided to reluctantly sell off some of his reference library.

IMG_3165sMy lovely wife spent the better part of 9 hours going through boxes of gun books.

IMG_3172sAnd no I did not buy everything. I did find a few treasures though.

Some of the major stuff that John has are L1A1 parts, Madsen LMG parts, IMI .357 pump rifle, but there is so much give John a call at.

Taking a little time off

After the grueling work schedule I have had for the last couple of months I have decided to take a little time off. A friend of mine and gun lab has offered my wife and I a room at his motel in Oregon for a few days. So I excepted and I am taking a much needed brake. Hopefully it will allow me some time to complete all the videos and write ups I have setting on my computer for posts to gun lab.

The internet access is non existing at the motel and the cell phones will not even work there so I am hoping for some much needed quite time to finish a number of projects.

I am also dropping by dealers warehouse to see an old friend and spend some time there. I will post about the visit there with pictures. We are also stopping by a friends house in Nevada. It should be a fun trip and I hope to have some interesting pictures to share.

A new Category “Arizona day”

During my normal work week I generally drive 1000 miles and go and see some really interesting stuff. Sometimes it a place or an object or just what is going on in this great state. So I have decided to do a once a week or maybe once every two week post about this state.

What is it Saturday

This might be a little on the hard side. I came across this interesting item and thought you would enjoy seeing it.IMG_2609s

My birthday day off.

For my Birthday my wife took me to the Samurai armor display at the Phoenix Art Museum. It was a great way to spend the day. The detail of the work that they accomplished is nothing short of amazing.

As long as you did not use a flash taking pictures was not a problem. There was not a great deal of weapons, but the armor is something to admire.

This will be a multi part post as I took a number of pictures.

Here are a few of the full sets of armor that was on display.

Webley 22lr pistol

A webley Mk 4 in 22lr. I am not sure the date that these were made, but it would have to be post WW2.

Looking at the pictures you can see that the pistol grip is shortened and the cylinder is modified.

22 belt fed fun gun

Gordie K. ,a friend of gun lab, sent some pictures of a little belt fed fun gun he has made. The upper receiver is a Lakeside machine razor back upper.

DSCN0141[1]The butt stock is a sterling sub-machine gun which folds up and latches just like the original.

DSCN0150[1]

A pistol grip from a MG-42. The lower receiver machined block of steel.

DSCN0142[1]A barrel jacket from a PPSh 41

DSCN0144[1]The action is like a miniature 1919.
