Oh, they reminded me of my youth. In the late 80s, I worked on a Japax machine, if my memory serves me correctly, it was a wire, two-axis Japax LDM series. To program the cutting path, I used the computer that came with the machine, like it was called C-Japt, as far as I remember, this industrial computer was built on a Motorola 68000 processor. For the sake of interest, I hacked the security of the software interface and found that the program for calculating the tool trajectory and building the ISO code was created in a dialect of the Basic language and redone it for Microsoft Basic. Unfortunately, in the 90s the floppy disks with the source codes were lost. There’s an album lying around somewhere, with a printout of the code on a dot matrix printer.

Would anyone have a wiring drawings of a Japax LUX3 machine? The RS232 link worked for many years. The machine was moved and now the link does not work.

Hello to anyone out there reading this, I have a japax wire edm that dosent really have much information on it about what type. However it does use the same japt 3F controller and looks very similar in size and layout to the one pictured in this thread older or newer I’m not sure but I was wondering if anyone would have some insight into why the machine won’t pass its “self test” when first powering up. It clicks comes to life for about a second and shuts back off. The only safety switch I can find is on the back door of the VH-0Z power supply cabinet and with that door open it shuts off even faster, so I don’t believe it would be a safety sensor of sorts. I first had this issue trying to track down any issues in the unit as a whole and boy did I find plenty, the dielectric fluid unit was the first and forgetting to connect back the power and signal lines resulted in the same issue. But upon fixing all that I could find and doing a first test I had called it quits for the night and went home only to come back the next day with the state of the machine unchanged and this problem occurring. I’ve checked and cleaned all the connections between the three units and still no change. If anyone would happen to have some insight into what this could be caused by, or any helpful info on the machine at all it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chuck: Only been 8 years, got it running about a week after my post, ended up being an axis position interlock, one small wire was broken and shorting to the frame. Machine has been working great ever since. Never saw the line you dropped, but thank you

come posso fare per comprare delle guide filo per la mia Japax LDM 50?
Ho la “culla di ceramica sotto i rulli guida filo che si è consumata e dovrei comprare ricambi.
qualcuno mi indica come si possono inserire delle immagini delle parti che servono?

Buongiorno, grazie per la risposta. comunque sono riuscito a riparare il PC.
Il problema è stato causato dal surriscaldamento, perché si sono fermate le ventole di raffreddamento. sono riuscito a trovare una scheda controller in rete che ho sostituito e si è riacceso. Ho dovuto riconfigurare il tutto adesso funziona alla grande.
Ancora una volta la mia Japax LDM-50 non mi ha deluso….
Grazie per aver risposto se posso essere di aiuto a qualcuno lo faccio volentieri.

Inoltre, si prega di avvisare esattamente cosa sta facendo o non sta facendo la macchina. Come si fa a sapere che il problema non riguarda l’unità a doppio disco o il disco di sistema? Aggiungo:, ho smontato il PC l’ho aperto ho notato le ventole di raffreddamento che una era ferma l’altra girava a fatica, ho controllato l’alimentazione che risulta essere regolare.
Successivamente ho completamente sfilato le schede, mi sono accorto che alla base del telaio verso il centro della scheda madre, vi è un sensore di temperatura, (posterei una foto ma non so ancora come funziona il forum).simile ad un “fusibile termico”, tante che misurando con tester, non dava nessuna continuità e/o resistenza.A quel punto ho pensato che fosse li il problema, sostituendo con un fusibile termico da 60°,(quanto mi indicava sul vecchio), rimonto il tutto convinto di aver risolto, invece …tutto buio, ho provato a scollegare tutte le schede dei segnali lasciando solo il PC ed il monitor con tastiera, risultato NON cambia, per cui penso sia partita la scheda madre.

Buongiorno a tutto il forum, posso chiedere se qualcuno ha modo di dirmi dove posso trovare un PC Nec, per la mia LDM 50 JAPAX?
la possiedo da 10 anni, non mi ha mai …”deluso”, ma ultimamente mi sta dando qualche problemino, ad esempio una settimana fa,il computer mi ha mostrato a video una serie di caratteri ASCI, dopo di che l’ho spento e non si è più riacceso.
Qualcuno può consigliarmi..
