JB,

There were a number of different contracts that Providence Tool received for the Peabody and here is a list that I have been able to make from different web sites. All numbers are approximate:
Canada - 5,000 - .50-56 Rim fire
France - 5,000 - Center fire (8mm Lebel??)
Spain - 25,000 - .43 Spanish center fire
Switzerland - 15,000 - 10.4x38mmR (AKA .41 Swiss) Rim fire
Romania - 25,000 - 30,000 - .45 Cal Center fire (actual cartridge unknown)
Connecticut - unknown
New York - unknown

A web page that you can find a ton of info on http://milpas.cc/rifles/ZFiles/Single%20Shot%20Cartridge%20Rifles/Peabody%20Rifles/

Another page with a lot of info and photos of the different breech blocks: http://www.militaryrifles.com/peabody&m/peab&mart.htm

Also, a Google search of "Peabody Breech Block Conversion" will return a lot of sites with info on different ways to make the conversion from rim to center fire.
